Make sure the tool has been turned off and cooled completely before removing the barrels. Wet a washcloth or cotton pad with warm soapy water and gently wipe down the barrels. Repeat this with a new cloth and warm water then dry the barrels with a towel before storing.
If you still have product buildup or residue that the above method doesn’t remove, try this: In a small bowl, create a paste with baking soda and warm water. Take a reusable cotton pad or washcloth and apply the baking soda mixture to your tool, working in gentle circular motions to remove residue. Rinse with warm water.
